# Generate Consumption Reports

> Learn how to generate hourly, daily, or monthly consumption reports in watt.ma by selecting meters, date ranges, and viewing charts and data tables.

Consumption reports in watt.ma help you understand exactly when and where your facility uses electricity. You can filter by date range, choose individual meters or meter groups, and switch between hourly, daily, and monthly aggregations. This guide walks you through creating your first report.

  <Step title="Open the Reports page">
    From the main navigation, click **Analytics** then **Consumption Reports**.

  <Step title="Select a date range">
    Use the date picker at the top of the page. Choose a preset (last 7 days, last 30 days, last month) or enter a custom start and end date.

  <Step title="Choose meters or groups">
    In the **Meters** dropdown, select one or more meters, or pick a saved group (for example, "HVAC Floor 2"). Hold Ctrl (or Cmd on Mac) to select multiple items.

  <Step title="Pick a report type">
    Select the aggregation interval: **Hourly**, **Daily**, or **Monthly**. Hourly is useful for demand analysis; monthly is best for billing reconciliation.

  <Step title="Generate and review">
    Click **Generate Report**. watt.ma displays a chart and a data table below it. Hover over the chart to see exact values for each interval. Use the table to sort, search, or copy raw numbers.

<Tip>
  Click **Compare Periods** to overlay the previous week or month on the same chart. This makes it easy to spot sudden spikes or verify the impact of efficiency changes.

## Save a report configuration

After you set your filters, click **Save Report** and give it a name. Saved reports appear in the sidebar for quick access, and you can schedule them to run automatically from the **Export Data** settings.
