# Export Energy Data from watt.ma

> Export your watt.ma energy data as CSV or Excel, set up scheduled email exports, and understand data retention limits across Starter and Pro plans.

watt.ma lets you take your energy data with you. You can export readings and reports as CSV or Excel files for offline analysis, or set up scheduled exports that arrive by email automatically. This guide explains both one-time downloads and recurring exports, and how your plan affects data retention.

    Navigate to **Analytics** then **Export Data** from the main menu.

  <Step title="Choose your format">
    Select **CSV** for lightweight imports into other tools, or **Excel** if you need formatted tables with multiple sheets.

  <Step title="Set the scope">
    Pick the meters or meter groups, the date range, and the aggregation level (raw readings, hourly, daily, or monthly).

  <Step title="Download or schedule">
    Click **Download Now** for an immediate file, or toggle **Schedule Export** to set a weekly or monthly email delivery. Enter the recipient addresses and confirm.

<Note>
  Data retention depends on your plan. Starter accounts retain data for 12 months; Pro accounts retain data for 36 months. Exports can only include data within your retention window.

## Scheduled exports

Scheduled exports are available on the Pro plan. Once configured, watt.ma emails a download link at the interval you choose. You can pause, edit, or delete a schedule at any time from the **Scheduled Exports** list on this page.
