# Accept QR Code Payments with CMI on watt.ma

> Activate QR code CMI payments on watt.ma: users pay for charging sessions by scanning a code from their Moroccan banking app.

watt.ma natively integrates QR code payments through the Centre Monétique Interbancaire (CMI). This feature allows your users to pay for their charging sessions by scanning a QR code displayed on the station screen or their phone, directly from their compatible Moroccan banking app. No physical payment terminal is required.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Verify your CMI prerequisites">
    Make sure you have an active **CMI merchant account**. This account is opened through your bank in Morocco and gives you access to electronic payment acceptance via the CMI network.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Activate CMI integration in watt.ma">
    Sign in to [watt.ma](https://watt.ma), then go to **Settings > Payments**. Click **Activate CMI**, then enter the merchant credentials provided by your bank (contract number, API key, or certificate depending on the format provided by CMI).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure stations for QR display">
    In each compatible station's settings, enable the **Display CMI QR code on screen** option. When a user plugs in their vehicle, the station displays a unique QR code linked to the current session.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Test a complete payment">
    Launch a test session from a station. Scan the QR code with a Moroccan banking app (for example, your bank's CMI partner app). Verify that the payment is triggered, the session starts automatically, and the receipt is generated.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  CMI integration requires an active merchant account with a Moroccan bank that is a CMI member. Without this account, the QR code payment option remains inactive in the watt.ma interface.
</Note>

<Tip>
  Enable the **WhatsApp receipt** option in notification settings. After each successful CMI payment, the user automatically receives a detailed receipt via WhatsApp with the amount, duration, energy consumed, and location of the charge. This feature is available starting from the Startup plan.
