# Set Charging Pricing and Rates on watt.ma

> Create custom charging rates on watt.ma: per kWh, per hour, or flat fee, with off-peak hours and assignment by site or station.

Pricing management lets you define the price policy applied to each charging session. You can set rates per kilowatt-hour, per hour of connection, or as flat fees, then assign these rates at the level of a site, a station, or a user group.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create a new rate">
    In the sidebar menu, go to **Sessions > Pricing**, then click **New rate**. Enter a recognizable name (for example "Hotel guest rate" or "Residence off-peak").
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the pricing model">
    Select one of the three modes:

    * **Per kWh**: price per kilowatt-hour consumed, the most common for public charging
    * **Per hour**: fixed price per hour of connection, suitable for long-term parking
    * **Flat fee**: fixed amount per session, regardless of duration or energy
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure tiered pricing (optional)">
    Enable the **Off-peak / peak hours** option to apply two distinct prices depending on the time of day. Define the corresponding time ranges. This feature is useful to encourage charging during periods of low electricity demand.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Assign the rate to stations or sites">
    Once the rate is saved, click **Assign**. Select the sites or specific stations to which this rate applies. You can associate multiple rates to different contexts (public, residential, fleet).
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  Amounts displayed in watt.ma are expressed in Moroccan dirhams (MAD). The applicable VAT in Morocco for electric vehicle charging services is 20 %. You must configure the VAT rate in your account billing settings so that receipts and reports correctly reflect amounts including tax.
