Connecting your meters is the first step to seeing real-time energy data in Wattsc. Once a meter is linked, Wattsc starts receiving readings automatically so you can monitor consumption, run reports, and trigger alerts. This guide walks you through adding a meter and confirming the connection.
1

Open the Meters section

Log in to Wattsc and select Monitoring from the main navigation. Click Meters to open the meter management page.
2

Add a new meter

Click Add Meter. Enter a descriptive name, such as “Main Incomer - Factory A”, and choose the facility it belongs to.
3

Choose the integration type

Select the protocol your meter supports:
  • Modbus/TCP — Enter the meter’s IP address, port (usually 502), and Modbus unit ID.
  • Smart meter integration — Pick your meter brand from the list and enter the serial number or API credentials provided by the manufacturer.
4

Map channels

Define the channels you want to track, such as “Phase L1”, “HVAC Floor 2”, or “Production Line 3”. Each channel will appear as a separate data stream in dashboards and reports.
5

Verify the connection

Click Test Connection. Wattsc attempts to reach the meter and read a sample register. If the test succeeds, click Save to start continuous data collection. If it fails, check the network settings and credentials, then retry.
Wattsc supports a wide range of meter brands, including Schneider Electric, Siemens, ABB, and Socomec. If your model is not listed, contact support with the make and model number so we can add compatibility.
After the meter is saved, readings typically appear on the dashboard within one to two minutes. If no data shows up after five minutes, review the connection test or check that the meter is online on your local network.
