Wattsc energy monitoring gives you a live view of electricity consumption across all your facilities. By connecting smart meters and IoT sensors, you collect granular readings, organize them into channels, and surface insights on a real-time dashboard. This page introduces the core concepts you will use every day.

Key concepts

  • Meters — The physical smart meters or IoT energy sensors installed at your facility. Each meter sends consumption data to Wattsc over Modbus/TCP or a direct integration.
  • Channels — Logical groupings within a meter, such as a specific phase, floor, or piece of equipment. Channels let you break consumption down to the level that matters for your analysis.
  • Readings — The actual data points Wattsc receives, typically in kilowatts (kW) or kilowatt-hours (kWh). Readings are stored and made available for dashboards, reports, and alerts.
  • Alerts — Rules you create to notify your team when consumption crosses a threshold you define. Alerts can be sent by email, SMS, or webhook.
