1
Create an account on watt.ma
Go to watt.ma and click Create an account. Enter your email address, a secure password, and your organization name. Verify your email address via the confirmation link sent to you.
2
Add your first station
In the Stations menu, click Add a station. Enter the station identifier (chargeBoxId), select the model from the list or choose Generic OCPP 1.6J. watt.ma automatically generates the OCPP connection URL and a security identifier for this station.
3
Configure the station for OCPP 1.6J
Log in to your station’s administration interface (Alfen, ABB, Ratio, Teison, and so on). In the network or OCPP settings, enter:
- OCPP URL: the URL provided by watt.ma
- ChargeBox ID: the identifier entered in the previous step
- Protocol: OCPP 1.6J (JSON over WebSocket)
4
Verify the connection
Return to watt.ma, in Stations > Overview. The status of your station should change to Connected (green indicator). Click on the station to view its state, connectors, and latest activity.
5
Launch a first session
From the dashboard or the station details page, click Start a session to test. You can also scan the QR code displayed on the station with a phone to initiate a CMI payment. Verify that the session appears in Sessions > Session tracking.
If the station does not change to Connected status after 2 minutes, check that the WebSocket port (usually 443 or 80) is not blocked by your firewall. See the Connect a station page for detailed troubleshooting.
