Reconciliation Architecture
Record a Bank Transfer
Manual transfers (residents, businesses, syndicates) are recorded in watt.ma by an administrator to update the status of the affected invoices.1
Open the reconciliation ledger
Sign in to web.watt.ma, then go to Reports > Reconciliation. The list displays invoices to reconcile, sorted by due date.
2
Select the invoice
Click on the relevant invoice (e.g., Invoice #2026-08-0052, amount 12,500.00 MAD).
3
Enter transfer details
Fill in the following fields:
- Amount: 12,500.00 MAD
- Receipt date: 2026-08-25
- Bank reference:
BANK-2026-00217 - Payment method: Bank transfer
- Administrator: your name (pre-filled)
- Notes: Atlas Logistics transfer, August 2026 settlement
- Linked invoice: #2026-08-0052 (selected automatically)
4
Validate reconciliation
Click Reconcile. The invoice status changes to Paid and the entry is timestamped with your identifier.
Every reconciliation action is timestamped with the author, date, IP address, and modifications made. This data forms the complete audit trail and is exportable from Reports > Export Data.
Reconcile CMI Payments
For CMI QR and Moroccan card payments, watt.ma supports importing the settlement file sent by your bank.1
Import the settlement file
In Reports > CMI Reconciliation, click Import file. Select the CSV or Excel file received from your bank. The expected format contains: settlement date, amount, CMI transaction reference, and account number.
2
Automatic matching
watt.ma compares the CMI transaction reference with payments at Successful status that have not yet been reconciled. Matches are displayed line by line with a validation status.
3
Validate matches
Check the confirmed lines, then click Validate batch. The payments change to Reconciled status.
4
Handle exceptions
Lines without automatic matches appear in the Exceptions tab. For each exception, you can:
- Search manually for the matching payment
- Create a manual payment if the bank entry does not match any watt.ma invoice
- Mark the entry as a dispute and add an explanatory note
The CMI settlement delay is generally J+2 to J+5 depending on your merchant bank. Friday payments may appear in the settlement file the following Tuesday.
Discrepancies and Disputes
Audit Trail
Every reconciliation action is recorded irreversibly:- Timestamp: exact date and time of the action (Casablanca time zone)
- Author: identifier of the team member who performed the reconciliation
- IP address: address from which the action was initiated
- Modification: before and after value for each edited field
- Affected invoices: list of invoice references linked to the operation
